This month as I reflect on Valentine’s Day and friendship, I find myself thinking of you all, and how we shape one another. As we are getting ready for our conference, Elizabeth suggested the theme of “Connections: Bring encouragement to share, find encouragement you need.” inspired by the verse “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” 1 Thes. 5:11.
In preparations for the connections made at the conference, I’ve been attempting to track down all of the former chairpersons of VHSA. So far I’ve tracked back to the mid 90’s, and with each message or phone call I get a clearer picture of the torch that has passed from hand to hand as this group has grown and changed and sought to support the primary work being done in the home, to educate our kids in a manner that glorifies God.
It’s been an exciting time of connections. Of getting to thank those who were pioneers of homeschooling. What love has been poured out on this group! Will you be next? Will you step in and lend a hand? What can you share with those around you in this group? What will be your edifying connection this Valentines Day?
